Alnwick Drug Substance Facility Ribbon Cutting Event

It is time to celebrate!
Come and join us at our Alnwick, UK site on Friday, December 9 for our official ribbon cutting event & reception.

On Friday, December 9th we will be officially cutting the ribbon on our new drug substance facility at our Alnwick, UK site.  This exciting event will be held from 2:00pm-4:00pm, kicking off with a welcome address by MP Rt Hon Anne-Marie Trevelyan, who will also do us the honor of cutting the ribbon on the new facility.  All guests can participate in a group photo with our MP and facility tour.  After the tour has concluded, all are invited to stay and enjoy some tasty refreshments and canapes while mingling with our Quotient Sciences team.  All are welcomed to join in the festivities.

Overview of new facility

Quotient Sciences invested £6 million into buildign this state-of-the-art drug substance manufacturing capability, which can deliver integrated support for customers from candidate selection through to early clinical development and beyond.  The project being in August of 2021 and was just recently completed last month.

The expansion delivers multipurpose capacity of up to 15 GMP reactor streams with reactor volumes ranging from 5 liters up to 150 liters and tactical deployment of batch or continuous flow chemistry technologies to optimize drug substance manufacturing processes. The facility has been designed adopting Industry 4.0 principles, with the inclusion of a predictive process control system (PharmaMV) improving the transfer from small-scale process research and development (PR&D) into manufacture of multi-kilogram quantities of drug substance for clinical use.

About our guest of honor- MP Rt Hon Anne-Marie Belinda Trevelyan

Anne-Marie Belinda Trevelyan is a British politician, a member of the Conservative Party, she has been Member of Parliament (MP) for Berwick-upon-Tweed since 2015. Trevelyan has served as Minister of State for Indo-Pacific since October 2022. She previously served as Secretary of State for Transport from September to October 2022, Secretary of State for International Trade and President of the Board of Trade from 2021 to 2022, and as Secretary of State for International Development in 2020. As well as serving in Secretary of State positions, Trevelyan has also served in the junior minister positions of Minister of State for Business, Energy and Clean Growth in 2021, Minister of State for the Armed Forces between 2019 and 2020, and Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Defence Procurement in 2019.
