Wouter Vaes is a toxicologist from training and he started over 15 years ago exploring the use of AMS for biomedical innovations at TNO. He is co(founder) and CSO of Peregrion B.V. the Dutch biomedical AMS facility that spun out from TNO. In addition, he is still appointed as principal scientist at TNO.
At Peregrion he supports pharma companies with scientific advice on the conduct of microtracer studies. At TNO his research focuses on new technologies to improve online AMS measurements and on new applications of 14C microtracers in the field of biomarkers and biologicals.
He also works on other topics like the development of cell-free protein synthesis platforms to incorporate non-canonical or 14C labeled amino acids in protein and peptide structures.
